This Privacy Policy explains how MyStreamSpace ("MyStreamSpace", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our website, mobile applications, and related services (together, the "Platform"). MyStreamSpace is a content streaming and creator platform where you can watch and publish videos and clips, attend live streams and events, follow creators, and earn and spend "stars" through our Watch & Earn programme. By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

a. Information you give us

  • Account details — your email address, name, chosen username/handle, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
  • Profile content — your display name, bio, avatar, cover image, and any profile fields you choose to add.
  • Content you create or submit — videos, clips, live streams, comments, replies, chat messages, event RSVPs, reports, and support requests.
  • Interests — the categories you select during onboarding to personalise your experience.
  • Sign-in identifiers — when you sign in with Google or KingsChat, we receive your verified email and basic profile from that provider in order to create or match your account.

b. Information we collect automatically

  • Usage and engagement — videos and clips you view, likes, bookmarks, shares, follows, and the time you spend watching content.
  • Device and connection data — IP address, browser/user-agent, app version, and platform (web, iOS, Android). For anonymous view-counting we derive a privacy-preserving key by hashing your IP and user-agent together with a server-side secret; we do not store your raw IP against a view record for this purpose.
  • Approximate location — a coarse country/region/city estimate derived from your IP address, used for regional features and analytics. We do not collect precise GPS location from the web Platform.
  • Watch history — on the web Platform, your watch history is stored locally in your browser (local storage) on your own device and is not uploaded to our servers. You can clear it at any time from the History page.
  • Push tokens — if you enable notifications in our mobile app, we store the device push token needed to deliver them.

c. Payment information

When you purchase stars, boost a video, or otherwise transact, payment is processed by third-party payment providers (such as Stripe, Paystack, and Espees/CimPay). Your full card or wallet credentials are entered directly with those providers — we do not collect or store your card numbers on our servers. We retain a record of the transaction (amount, currency, provider reference, and the stars credited) to operate your wallet and for accounting and fraud-prevention purposes. Your stars balance and ledger are maintained by our Watch & Earn service.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Platform and your account.
  • Authenticate you, keep your sessions secure, and verify your email address.
  • Display and recommend content, creators, events, and categories relevant to you.
  • Operate the Watch & Earn programme — crediting, gifting, purchasing, and (where available) withdrawing stars.
  • Process payments, boosts, and prevent fraudulent or abusive transactions.
  • Send transactional messages (verification codes, password resets, and, on mobile, notifications you have enabled).
  • Maintain counts and analytics such as views, likes, comments, and follower counts.
  • Respond to your support requests and reports, and enforce our Terms and community guidelines.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Platform.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described below:

  • Publicly, by your choice — your username, display name, avatar, cover, bio, and the content you publish (videos, clips, comments, live chat) are visible to other users. Your email and phone number are never shown on your public profile.
  • Service providers — we use trusted third parties to run the Platform, including payment processors (Stripe, Paystack, Espees/CimPay), cloud media and CDN hosting (Bunny), real-time live video (Agora), push notifications and live chat infrastructure (Google Firebase), email delivery, and sign-in providers (Google, KingsChat). They process data only on our instructions.
  • Across the MyStreamSpace ecosystem — our own services (such as the creator studio and the Watch & Earn wallet service) share the data needed to deliver a single connected experience.
  • Legal and safety — when required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect against fraud, abuse, or harm.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in (access and refresh tokens), remember your theme preference, and store your local watch history on your device. These are essential to the Platform's functionality. You can clear them through your browser settings, though doing so will sign you out and reset local preferences.

5. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform. Transaction records are retained as required for accounting, tax, and fraud-prevention purposes. When you delete your account, we anonymise the personal details on your profile (such as email, phone, avatar, and bio) and remove your authored videos from public view; some records associated with past activity or transactions may be retained in anonymised or aggregated form where we have a legal or operational need.

6. Your Choices and Rights

  • Access and update — you can view and edit your profile information at any time from your channel settings.
  • Delete your account — you can request deletion in-app, which soft-deletes your account and anonymises your personal data as described above.
  • Notifications — you can disable push notifications from your device settings.
  • Watch history — you can clear your locally-stored watch history from the History page.
  • Regional rights — depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, port, or restrict the processing of your personal data. Contact us to exercise them.

7. Security

We use technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, short-lived access tokens, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and to respond promptly to any incident.

8. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are under the age of majority in your country, you should use the Platform only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

9. International Transfers

MyStreamSpace operates globally, and your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including by the service providers listed above. Where required, we take steps to ensure your data receives an adequate level of protection wherever it is processed.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
